Reasons people need to shut the fuck up:
Cuba/Haiti - who gives a fuck? Cuba has 400 Doctors in Haiti saving lives. People have no water, food or shelter and are LITERALLY dying in the streets (who shoots someone for stealing a bag of rice anyway?). Believe me, they do not give a friggin toss what your political persuasions are. They just want to live.
Prince William - has a bald head. This is news-worthy......why? Have Paris & Brittany stopped flashing their peens? Oh, I see. Carry on.
Victorian Teens - are still driving too fast. Really? I'm shocked! Quick someone do something to make those teenagers do as they're told! Irony much?
Yanks Love God - So some company in the states that makes binoculars for guns inscribes their product with bible verse numbers? Really? You didn't already think this was all the Christians trying to kill those damn Muslims once and for all? You think some arab will find this out and want to kill a Marine for owning one? You think that arab didn't want to kill the fekker anyway? Christ almighty. Because THATS whats wrong with the war in Iraq is it? NAPLAN - (This is the standard numeracy/literacy test in Aussieland) So you want to tell us parents how the overall schools results stack up against the rest? Why not? You tell us how our child stacks up against all the others. If the school is shite, fucking say so. So what if it brands a school as crap? IT IS CRAP!!!! You think schools in underpriveleged areas will be further branded by this? Trust me, if you attend Mt Druitt Public School you're fucked as it is.

Indians - Are copping shit in Aussieland right now. Who is surprised? I mean, really? Theres like a billion of them here, so its no wonder they take up a portion of the statistics for victims. Ever met one at the club? They just dont leave you alone when told. Ever met them in business? They complain about bullshit, they dont pay theri bills, and they argue NON STOP and dont make sense or bother to listen to your response. Ever run into one on the street? They are pushy, arrogant and agressive. I was barged off the footpath by a young Indian man when sproglet was little and in a stroller. IN A STROLLER PEOPLE! And both me AND the stroller were pushed aside. And they account for so many complaints about taxi drivers? No shit sherlock! If your cabbie isnt arab or indian, your not in a cab! (and yes my arab boyfriend drove cabs before we met) (and yes I'm waiting to be called racist any second now. whatevs)
Seriously people. Grow up. Get the hell over it. Surely you have bigger fish to fry?

i dont think mt druitt school is that bad. they have so much funding coming out of their ears there are actually a number of really good teachers there. it is more the background that the children come from lols.

I disagree. They do not have decent teachers, or any more funding than any other school.
You are correct though about the background of the kids that go there. And the thing is, those are the kids that "your" kid would be associating with.
There is zero emphasis placed on school within most Mt Druitt families.
In fact, there's zero emphasis on most things required to be a decent member of society.
I firmly believe that people from areas like that are beyond helping. So many of them just dont care enough to put in the effort required to drag themselves out of the gutter, and if you try and help, they will throw it back in your face or piss it away. Those that see reality and have enough guts to get the hell out of that lifestyle have enough moxy to do it without your help, and enough pride to reject it if offered.
There are some schools that will always top that list, same as some that will always be at the bottom. But the idea of evaluating those non-obvious options? Priceless!
Sproglet changed schools in 2nd term of Year 2, and was approx 18 months behind the other students. He is a smart child, and is now top of his year in maths, and his worst subject has him only about 3 months behind the other kids. So in less than 2 years he has accomplished 3.5 years of learning. If I had known his last school was so crap, he could honestly be in the OC class by now.
THAT surely has more value than potentially embarrassing a few teachers that should already be embarrassed, no?
sorry it took me so long to get back here - but im silly and never hit email follow ups. i will this time lol.
when i have children, i dont plan to be in this area. for that reason alone.
but definitely within primary there are a number of teachers there that are there because of the funding that the primary school their receives. one of my university lecturers speaks very highly of the school.
i think that all schools should be aiming for the same standards though. and i dont think that private is better than public. i think it depends on the teachers that are providing each child with the education.
and i dont think that there is enough teachers out there that care enough about each child that they are shaping.
