Its hot. I'm fat (and so Fat Barrel of Monkeez is back) but have never felt the heat, and can often be found wearing a jacket outside in 30+ degree heat quite happily. But the office is stuffy, hot and gross. Ive been here 2 hours and want to go home and have a shower. blergh.

So Happy New Year and all that stuff since I've not been on here. The break was awesome. The Sproglet and I spent HEAPS of time together, and outdoors doing awesome holiday things. He got a pool for Xmas, and has already managed to turn it slightly greenish, so you know he doing something gross out there, and therefore enjoying himself immensely. The Chrissy tree is still in the house, so clearly the men in my life are not being helpful, but then again, I also killed the vaccuum cleaner during our end-of-year-clean (like a spring clean on steroids) so maybe thats not so bad, coz if they did take it outside, I'd be left with pine needles all over the carpet for days until I picked them all up by hand!
The resolutions are simple this year. Sproglet wants to get a Gold Award at school, and learn algebra. He will be in 4th Grade this year, so I'm thinking I'll be doing a fair bit of maths tutoring at home this year - I'm sure algebra isn't in the primary school curriculum!
As for me, I have decided to "be more me" this year. For a number of reasons, all far to boring to go into, I have found my 'self' has been dissappearing lately. Its time I got her back. I like her! Except hopefully I can bring back all the best parts, and leave the shitty (lard-ass) parts in the noughties!

Consider me the Queen of Ebay. Fuck me, but I love that site! I'm not on there often, but when I am I can often snag me a brilliant bargain. So far this year I have scored a 51cm tv/vcr combo for sproglet's room, 96 assorted vhs movies (only 4 of which he had already, and most of which are disney classic, some from the deleted catalogues and therefore have been impossible to find for him) a massive (and massively awesome) tv for my room, a 68cm flatscreen for outside (we have an awesome sunroom which is great for bbq's so now we can watch the footy etc outside while we eat) and an entertainment unit. And all of this for UNDER $80.00!!! Granted, some are better bargains than others such as the entertainment unit for $0.99 but all these items are in as new condition, and the most expensive was $30.00 for my awesome telly. Now I can lay in bed and watch, well, porn really. Why else have a TV in the bedroom?
But the best part of this bargain boom is that the Sproglet is now sleeping in his own room. You may not appreciate the sheer enormity of this, but let me tell you now, this is the MOST AMAZING THING TO EVER HAPPEN TO ME!
Yes, OK so he has slept in his bed before, BUT......
1. It is now EVERY NIGHT
2. I no longer have to let him fall asleep in the loungeroom/my room and then wake him and transfer him to his own bed
3. He no longer comes into my bed at 3am
4. I no longer have to lay with him in his bed until he falls asleep
5. I don't even have to sit with him for "just a few minutes" before he goes to sleep
6. ITS NOW EVERY NIGHT!!!!! Not just the occasional 1-2 nights in a row.
I know many single mum's have too much co-sleeping going on, but I'm fairly sure the kids usually have outgrown this before they get to be 9 FREAKING YEARS OLD!
*sigh*
Now he grabs a video, asks "can I watch this in my room mummy?" and when I say yes, he kisses me goodnight, and toddles off to set himself up. He turns on the tv/vcr combo, turns on his fan because its ridiculously hot, turns out the light, climbs into bed, and is soon fast asleep. The $5 bargain of the milennium then magically turns itself off after rewinding and ejecting the video. Awesome. All I have to do is check him before I go to bed, and turn off the fan!
Sweet!

I'm looking for new blogs to follow too. I have an average of 200-300 posts per day in my reader, and some of these bloggers have evolved away from the reason I started reading. Some of my favourites have dissappeared or stopped writing, and some, well, some are boring!. Others are no longer of interest due to changes in my own philosophies about life, and I have decided that its time to clean out my google reader! So if anyone has any suggestions, I'd love the links!

sorry to diappoint it is in the syllabus... but its only meant to be really basic stuff. not like high school.
as for blogs - see my blogroll all those there are great :)
Lol Carly, I was talking about the trickier bits. Actually, algerbra is in pre-school and earlier. eg: 3 + _ = 4. Its even on Sesame Street, with 4 balls on one side of the screen, and 3 on the other, and the kids need to say how many more balls are needed to make them the same.
Sproglet already does the basics like 7+a=10, a=?
He is a maths superstar!
